The Regional Airline Association Urges Passage of the Aviation Funding Solvency Act

Washington, DC– The Regional Airline Association (RAA) applauds the bipartisan leadership of the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee for considering H.R. 6086, the Aviation Funding Solvency Act, and urges the Committee to approve thisimportant legislation for our industry. This bill would prioritize the nation’s aviation ecosystem  by ensuring that air traffic controllers and FAA safety professionals are paid during a government shutdown.

The aviation community and the flying public cannot afford the operational disruptions caused by government shutdowns. H.R. 6086 ensures that the FAA’s most important asset — its people — are put first, so they can fully prioritize the FAA’s critical mission and prevent the kind of service disruptions the aviation system experienced less than a month ago.

“Aviation is the backbone of America’s connectivity and economy. We must protect and prioritize the dedicated men and women at the FAA who have repeatedly had to endure financial hardships during government shutdowns.  H.R. 6086 is a commonsense, bipartisan, and tailored solution to help ensure our aviation system remains resilient and uninterrupted, even amid future government shutdowns,” said Faye Malarkey Black, RAA President and CEO.
